HUSSEIN TAS

Hussein started his apprenticeship training at Drysdale, Launceston in 1992, then shortly after, started at the Novotel Brighton Beach in Sydney. Hussein worked under German head chef Heiner Volkens for four years working his way though the 7 different food outlets.

Hussein was appointed Senior Chef De Partie in banquets for the very busy wedding and function centre.

After a total of 6 1/2 years with the Novotel, Hussein worked for Neil Perry's Rockpool Catering in Sydney then travelled to England to work in Rick Steins famous Seafood Resturant.

With a passion in cooking and learning new cusines, Hussein then worked for Kaffer Party Service Munchen in Munich Germany. It was here that Hussein experienced 5 star catering on an enormous scale, catering all over Europe.

A number of years later, Hussein found himself working as the Head Chef in Ed's Wien Bistro in Rheinfelden Switzerland.

Hussein returned to Tasmania and in 2003 opened Sheffields 'Coffee on Main'. Hussein continues to run his cafe` (now Yvettes) with his wife Yvette. Hussein is also a Cookery teacher at the TasTafe in Devonport.
